The Nazi regime's establishment of military brothels across occupied Europe during World War II was a horrific manifestation of their misogyny and

antisemitism. Over 500 of these brothels were set up, with an estimated minimum of 34,140 European women forced into sexual slavery to serve as outlets for German soldiers.

The women forced to work in these brothels were often kidnapped from the streets of occupied cities or taken directly from concentration camps like Ravensbrück and Auschwitz. They had little to no choice in the matter, facing severe punishment or deportation to the camps if they refused.
